Steps In Applying To NPSC:
To begin the application, click on the link at the bottom of this page.
Be sure to record your Access Code when first assigned; you will need it to reenter and continue your application. Do not print the application and fill it out; NPSC will only accept it online.
Completing page one activates the button for the Print Recommendation Request, which prints the recommendation request forms you will provide to your recommenders.
Contact NPSC Tech Support at 800-854-6772 if you have questions.
Recommendations:
NPSC requires a minimum of three to a maximum of five letters of recommendation from professionals: professors and employers familiar with your work in your discipline. If at all possible, at least one letter should be from someone who has observed or supervised your participation in research. Provide your NPSC recommendation forms to your recommenders as early as possible. We suggest you provide your recommenders with a narrative of what you accomplished in class or employment with accompanying grades, research results, etc.
Finalizing the Online Application:
When you reach the last screen of your application, the option buttons are "Save" and "Validate Application." If you are ready for final processing, click on "Validate Application." The application will be scanned for completeness and the program will advise you of discrepancies or notes of which you should be aware. If all is well, this process activates the next button, "Submit Application," which automatically sends your final updates and codes the NPSC database as a completed electronic application. You may then print your application from your browser. You will not be able to reenter your application and make modifications; if you do need to change your application, call the NPSC office or email techsupport@npsc.org to request that your application be unlocked. You will then be required to make your corrections and then repeat the guidance above for Finalizing the online Application.
GRE Scores
Go to the GRE Web site (http://www.gre.org), or call (609) 771-7670. Request that your GRE scores be sent to NPSC at code R4417. Try your best to meet the NPSC November 30 deadline. If your scores are not in by that deadline, you are still eligible to apply. Have your scores sent as soon as possible.
In addition to the required official GRE scores from ETS, we suggest that you fax a copy of your score card to NPSC at (575) 532-5769. This will help to ensure that NPSC has your GRE scores when the review process begins.
